Ashley is the founder of Ignite Journalism, a new organization dedicated to providing teens with journalism education and opportunities. She studied journalism at San Diego State University and has spent the last decade writing about education, health, international development, gender and technology. Ashley has traveled to Afghanistan, Morocco, Nicaragua and Nigeria to report on development work and lead storytelling trainings. She is currently working on her MA in Public Policy and Management through the University of York.
